Should I use a conveyancer or solicitor?
Conveyancer vs Solicitor. Which should you choose?
This is ultimately your decision.
But there are a number of things to consider.
Conveyancers cannot assist with legal issues.
Solicitors can do your conveyancing AND assist with legal matters.
Why does this matter?
Issues can arise during a conveyancing transaction that can require a lawyer.
Including litigation, compensation claims, misrepresentations, interpretations of leases and legal restrictions on the title of a property.
A lawyer can also assist in other legal matters that may arise in your future.
Such as family law, commercial law, criminal law, etc.
So it could be beneficial to hire a solicitor for your conveyancing needs.
Are you buying or selling property in QLD?
You’ll need a law firm.
It is illegal in Queensland to have conveyancing companies owned by Licensed Conveyancers. All paid conveyancing work in Queensland must be done by a Law Firm.
Why are conveyancers cheaper than solicitors?
This is not always the case.
Some conveyancing solicitors offer very competitive fees.
